The new website of the Human Rights Commission, developed by Webtrade in recent weeks, was put live today for the official launch by An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, of the Commissions new offices in Jervis Street, Dublin and their new website www.ihrc.ie.
The Human Rights Commission is a statutory body established by the Human Rights Commission Acts 2000 and 2001, as a direct result of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.
Webtrade was commissioned to design, host and provide content management for the new site, which will become the main human rights information resource in Ireland, supporting the Human Rights Commission’s strategic objectives and reflecting the work and activities of the Commission.
Human Rights Commission staff will use our LiveEdit™ content management system to update content such as Publications, Press Releases, a Calendar of Events and What’s New. The site also includes our LiveEdit™ email module, allowing people to register their email address to receive notifications of updates to the site.
The site was designed to meet Public Sector Web Publication Guidelines and WAI Accessibility Standards.
Over time, it will feature an Irish language version of all site content, assisted by our LiveEdit™ multi-lingual module, which allows HRC staff to easily add content in both English and Irish.
