Webtrade Ranked in Top 5 at Deloitte and Touche's Technology Fast 50 Awards
February 28th 2002: Webtrade Limited, a company with offices in Dublin and Galway, has come 4th in the Deloitte and Touche Technology Fast 50 Awards. The Awards were based on growth over the last 3 years. This represents an outstanding achievement for the company.

The Technology Fast 50 programme recognises and ranks the fastest-growing technology companies in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The top 50 ranked companies, range from well-established companies such as Eurologic Systems (11), Trintech Technology (39) and Iona Technologies (43) to newly emerging ones such as Webtrade (4) and Bronway (21).

Deloitte & Touche presented the awards in association with Equity Network, ACT Venture Capital and TechMark, at a Gala Dinner in O'Reilly Hall at UCD last night.

The Fast 50 programme originated in San Jose, the centre of California's famous Silicon Valley in 1995. Since then it has successfully expanded across the US and to other countries throughout the world.
To qualify for the Deloitte & Touche Fast 50 Programme a company must have been:
1. In business for a minimum of 3 years
2. Considered a technology company - defined as:
Producing technology
Manufacturing a technology-related product
Technologically intensive or uses unique technology in problem-solving
Devoting a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology
3. Have its parent company located in Ireland.
