When the results come back from a Google search there is now a link called Show Options… which appears in the top-left of the results page. If you click on this, a new left-hand column of options appears.

This new column allows you to confine results to All Results, Videos, Forums or Reviews, and you can filter by time e.g. past 24 hours, past week. You can sort by relevance or by date. You can choose to preview images form results pages in the actual list of results. Also there is an option to view a longer summary of the page contents. Interestingly, if you choose to view video results, you can filter your video results by video duration.

The timeline option presents results pages which are associated with certain dates. The dates do not refer to when the pages were written, but instead to dates mentioned inside of the pages.

The Wonder Wheel option near the bottom of the left column provides a way to view clusters of related information. The wonder wheel is presented in an elegant visual fashion which promotes user-interaction.
