Webtrade have launched the new website design and Extranet site for the Centre for Housing Research (CHR).
Administered through the IPA (another Webtrade web design client), their role is to improve the management of the social and affordable housing sectors in Ireland.
The project involved a complete visual re-design of the main public site, plus an upgrade to our Siternity™ Content Management System.
A key development was an Extranet site making online guides and manuals available to Local Authority staff, e.g. procedures and policies for grants & loans, rental accommodation schemes, maintenance & repair of local authority homes etc. Content can be restricted by password to only registered authority staff, or made available to the public. The CHR also have the ability to restrict certain areas of the extranet to specific user types.
The project incorporated our Siternity™ Membership, Email Newsletter and RSS Feed modules (together with our ongoing upgrades), and search of all website sections and the content of MS Word and PDF documents on the site. It was also developed with accessibility in mind, and includes a text resizing tool, plus a high contrast version.
