'Best Public Sector Website' Award for Webtrade's Callcosts.ie at the Golden Spider's

The Webtrade designed www.callcosts.ie has won 'Best Public Sector Website' this years Golden Spider Awards, beating off stiff competition from the likes of An Post, Belfast City, VisitDublin.com, and the Forfais site PrimaryScience.ie. CallCosts was also a finalist in the 'Best Website Launched in 2006' category.

CallCosts is a tariff comparison website for Irish operators in the mobile, broadband and fixed line sectors, allowing consumers to enter their service usage details and view the best operator packages for their given usage. The website has been backed up with search engine marketing, banner advertisements and a radio campaign.



Webtrade carried out all website design and accessibility services, together with content management of the site using our CMS.

The eircom Golden Spiders are seen as the oscars of the internet industry and '06 was its 10th year running. The 'Spiders reward excellence in design, creativity, functionality, online marketing and innovation in Ireland's internet industry. ComReg's Consumer Commissioner Mike Byrne accepted the award in front of a packed house of over 600 in the Burlington Hotel, where comperes for the night were comedian Jason Byrne and model Glenda Gilsenan.

Callcosts is the third website Webtrade has developed for the Commission for Communication Regulation, having also build their main industry focused website www.comreg.ie and their consumer website www.askcomreg.ie.
