The Irish Institute of Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery (IITOS) has recently had their website re-developed by Webtrade - see www.iitos.ie
Webtrade were engaged to produce a website that would act as a valuable tool to members and trainees alike. The website was developed using Siternity™ content management system that was developed specifically for non-technical users to update sites themselves.
The Institute were particular in relation to the design and functionality of the site and it now includes the following:
- General information on Membership - covering current membership & membership criteria
- A Members Area - this is a secure area where various restricted documents are held (minutes, agendas..)
- Trainee Section & Discussion Board
- The ability to sign up for email and text alerts for forthcoming meetings & training events
The Institute oversees the Continuum in Orthopaedics on behalf of the Irish Surgical Postgraduate Training Committee (ISPTC), which is responsible in turn to the Joint Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. These bodies work to set standards and provide a continuity of training in Orthopaedics.
